Vendor shot dead in market

A VENDOR was shot dead at the Baguio City Public Market by still unidentifi­ed suspects in the early morning of November 4.

In a report by the Baguio City Police Office Station 2, the victim identified as Freddie Del Rosario Lonez Sr., 49 years old, married, vendor, and a resident of No. 135 Padre Zamora

Initial investigat­ion disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim came from Legarda Road and arrived home at around 1:54 a.m. and texted his wife to throw the key of their gate thru the window.

After a few minutes, the wife of the victim identified as Mardie Lonez heard several gunshots and when she went, she saw her husband with blood oozing from his head.

Scene Of the Crime Operatives(SOCO) team led by Police Chief Inspector Juliet Albion processed the crime scene and recovered one cellphone, four fired cartridge cases and one fired bullet.

Police scoured the area for possible arrest of the suspect/s, but yielded negative result, while CCTV in-

stalled at the place of the incident is subject for review while the case is still under investigat­ion.

In a belated report, a hacking incident transpired in the evening of All Saints Day in Navy Base.

The victim was identified as Martin Brando Punzalan Custudio, 18, and a resident at # 197 Purok 6 Navy Base, Saint Joseph Village Barangay.

Investigat­ion disclosed the victim went to the house of his uncle, identified as Gammy Punzalan for a drinking session where he encountere­d a group of males drinking thereat to include the alleged suspect, Marquez Edgar Bobis Marquez, 58, single, carpenter, and a resident of Bungabon Nueva Ecija.

After some time, the suspect and the victim had a heated argument which lead to an altercatio­n.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
