JHMC, stake­hold­ers ink MOU on en­vi­ron­ment

JOHN HAY Man­age­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (JHMC) has signed a Mem­o­ran­dum of Un­der­stand­ing (MOU) with top-notch uni­ver­si­ties in Baguio City, the Baguio We Want Fo­rum-Trees and Wa­ter Clus­ter and Civika Knowl­edge Man­age­ment So­lu­tions, for Col­lab­o­ra­tive Re­search.

Cov­er­ing all the ma­jor ar­eas of in­ter­est be­tween and among par­ties, the MOU en­com­passes a co­her­ent col­lab­o­ra­tion and pro­mo­tion of en­vi­ron­men­tal pro­tec­tion and sus­tain­able devel­op­ment in Baguio City, as in­di­cated in the com­mit­ment.

“We have ex­pe­ri­enced se­vere dis­as­ters in the past, sad­dened by the is­sues and in­ci­dents of poverty… We rec­og­nize in­di­vid­ual com­mit­ment in find­ing so­lu­tions to these is­sues, but to­gether, we are a strong voice to our so­ci­ety, to our leader, to Baguio City, our pride," said JHMC Board of Di­rec­tor Chair­per­son Sil­vestre Afa­ble, dur­ing the sign­ing.

The MOU pro­vides a frame­work of co­op­er­a­tion and es­tab­lish a net­work with var­i­ous or­ga­ni­za­tions, govern­ment agen­cies and other aca­demic in­sti­tu­tions in ad­dress­ing is­sues of sus­tain­able for­est man­age­ment, tourism, in­vest­ment, hu­man re­source man­age­ment, gen­der and devel­op­ment, lo­cal gov­er­nance, and wa­ter con­ser­va­tion.
