THE POLICE Regional Office Cordillera(PRO COR) took pride on a lady officer who returned a lost sling bag containing cash close to P40,000 to a senior citizen.

George Walsiyen, 78 – years – old, a resident of Betag La Trinidad, Benguet, was about to pay their taxes on November 27 at Landbank La Trinidad when he noticed his sling bag

was missing.

His bag contained cash money amounting to P39, 984.75, an eyeglass, two ballpen and a cellular phone.

Chief Inspector Thrislyn Sagpaey, a PRO COR personnel, was about to enter Health 101 Restaurant at Km. 6, La Trinidad, Benguet on the same date when she found the sling bag in front of the establishment.

Sagpaey tried to locate the possible owner but nobody around seemed to be the owner.

Fortunately, she found a cellular phone inside the bag and was able to contact the owner’s son and told him his dad’s bag is in her possession and told him to claim it from her.

The following day, Walsiyen went to claim his bag at the Regional Operations Plans Division (ROPD), where Sagpaey is assigned.

Walsiyen offered Sagpaey P2,000 reward but the police officer refused to accept.

PRO - COR Regional Director Rolando Nana said “the act of Sagpaey is indeed one of the many PNP’s Good Deeds that need to be shared and emulated by all. We commend the rightful deed of an honest cop and we hope that said good deed will inspire other personnel to do the same given the situation.”
