DepEd DRRM allots P20K calamity fund

THE Department of Education (DepED) Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) released P20,000.00 last October 26, 2018 for clean-up and minor repair of schools affected by Typhoon Ompong.

There were 53 school beneficiar­ies of Benguet who were granted of the said fund. Out of 53 schools, five schools are from Mankayan District: Cabacab Elementary School, Guiweng Elementary School, Caew Elementary School, Bulalacao National High School and Cabiten Nationa National High School.

The purpose of the said fund is for school clean-up and minor repair to ensure that the schools are prepared for the safety of the learners.

Ca-ew ES, one of the recipients used the amount to purchase materials for cleaning and putting up concrete retaining wall to the eroded part of the school near the outside comfort room. The said allotted calamity fund was used wisely.

We, the Parents Teachers Associatio­ns (PTA) of Ca-ew ES were very happy to help one another to clean the eroded part and put up the retaining wall that was destroyed by the said typhoon. We were very thankful to the Deped DRRM for allotting fund to our school.
