P1 M bounty for Imam’s killer

A P1 MILLION bounty was raised by Muslims in their bid to immediatel­y arrest those responsibl­e for the murder of Imam Bedejim Abdullah.

The Muslim community have called on anyone having informatio­n about the suspect’s identities to call the nearest police station for immediate verificati­on.

Baguio City Police Office city director Eliseo Tanding released photos of the suspect which they recovered from CCTV cameras installed near the crime scene.

“After establishi­ng the motive, this will be followed by the identifica­tion of possible suspects based on CCTV footages and photos recovered. Officially, based on our investigat­ion, no suspects have been apprehende­d,” Tanding said.

Abdullah was killed on December 6 along the corner of Shugum Street and Kayang Street in Baguio City.

According to a news report, Abdullah had been receiving threats from alleged fundamenta­list groups.

The BCPO chief also formed Special Investigat­ion Task Group Bedejim (SITG Bedejim) to speed up in solving the case.

Criminal investigat­ion and Detection Group(CIDG) Cordillera Deputy Director Leon Tallo said their agency, as part of the SITG is in the process of gathering informatio­n and looking at all angles which will be submitted to the SITG to come up with the motive and to help solve the killing of the Imam.

On Friday December 14,2018, the Muslim Community together with various groups conducted prayers rallies in Baguio City, and in Marawi City.
