Brigada Eskwela: Showcasing unity and collaboration
Leseb Elementary School – one among the twenty-one elementary schools in Bauko, Mountain Province showcased these unity and collaboration in helping each other achieve a clean and healthy environment for the children and students as part of welcoming them in the school year.
May 28, 2018 – Leseb Elementary School joined the other schools in the nationwide start-up of Brigada Eskwela. With the parents and teachers who are all present in the first day, they started with a procession to mark the beginning of Brigada Eskwela.
With the help and collaboration of the students, youth, volunteers, teachers, parents, barangay officials, OFW’s and other concerned organizations, Leseb Elementary School started to bloom in cleanliness, school beautification, construction of stage, and fencing of the school for the safety of the children. Leaking pipes, gutter, faucets, and broken chairs have been repaired. The school has been well improved from the outside surrounding to every room. One can feel the warmth of belongingness upon entering the campus as it entails a friendly school environment.
In addition, the school aims to mould the student in an environment where everybody can enjoy the cleanliness of the surrounding while enjoying the beauty of education. While this can’t be attained if not with the help of the parents, volunteers, youth, students, OFW’s and to every organization that lends their hand.
Brigada Eskwela not only focuses on improving one’s school but most importantly it showcased the true spirit of Filipino tradition and culture which is slowly fading. Brigada Eskwela preserves this one rare spirit of “bayanihan”. Together, students, teachers, youth, and to every Filipino, this is a reminder that this culture of ours is a legacy left by our ancestors, learn to cherish and preserve it not only during festivities, Brigada Eskwela but also through helping our co- Filipinos in times of need or not.
