3 pushers nabbed in Kalinga

THREE drug pushers were arrested by Kalinga police during a buy bust operation in Tabuk City in the morning of February 5.

Police Chief Superinten­dent Rolando Zambale Nana, regional director of the Police Regional Office – Cordillera (POR - COR) identified the suspects as Marlon Olimos, 32, and two females, all residents of Paliparan 3, Das Mariñas, Cavite, after selling two plastic sachets containing white crystallin­e substance suspected to be shabu weighing approximat­ely 10 grams to agents who acted as buyers during a buybust operations at Purok 7, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Another two transparen­t plastic sachets containing white crystallin­e substance suspected to be shabu weighing approximat­ely 55 grams were discovered when the police conducted body search to the suspects.

Also confiscate­d from the suspects were cellphones used for their transactio­n and the P2,200 buy-bust money.

The inventory and marking of the confiscate­d pieces of evidence was done onsite in the presence of representa­tives from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the media and a barangay official.

The suspects are now facing charges for violation of RA 9165 known as the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Nana lauded the operatives of the Regional Intelligen­ce Division (RID), Regional Intelligen­ce Unit 14 (RIU14) and Tabuk City Police who arrested the suspects. The police general also appreciate­d the continuous support of the local government units and the community in the eliminatio­n of all forms of illegal drugs in the region that greatly helps in upholding the national government’s anti-illegal drugs campaign.
