Acuevera shot 74 to top Baguio Olympics Cup

CHRIS Acuavera shot 74 points to claim the over-all title in the first Baguio Olympics Golf Cup as part of the city's charter founding anniversar­y recently.

Acuavera bested more than 100 par busters from Baguio and Benguet as it also won the longest drive at Pinewoods Golf Club in the two day event with Baguio Country Club also hosting the tournament using the Stable Ford PAL scoring system.

Johnny Balaki meanwhile topped Class A after firing away 62 points while Richie Abalos and Albert Balingit shot 57 and 56 apiece to settle for second and third respective­ly.

In Class B, Benard Capuyan fired 58 points to bag the top purse as Jun De Leon

had 57 while Rey Perez scored 56 to finish second and third respective­ly.

Francis Cuyop meanwhile was the runaway winner in Class C with 50 points while Leon Taleo scored 37 with Atong Leano fired 31 as they both settled for second and third respective­ly.

Macky Abriol meanwhile lorded the women's Class A division with 32 points while Charmaine Molintas shot 29 even as Nida Whybrow finished with 28 points for a decent second and third place finish respective­ly.

In women's Class B, Wells GaLa had 40 points for the top honors with Mel Donato shpt 30 to settle for second as Jane Aslor finished with 24 to salvage third place.

Ethan Co meanwhile had 45 points to top the jungolf division with Zyrah de Leon ended with 19 to finish second place.

Lawyer George Dumawing Jr. won special prizes after scoring back to back hole – in – one at Pinewood and Country Club fairways.

Rey Perez also got a special award for his nearest to the pin at Pinewood.

Winners of special prizes at the Country Club are Andy Endrano for longest drive and Henry Rosito for nearest to the pin.
