COOPERATION between the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Cordillera (TESDA) will continue in furthering the skills of workers to be globally competitive and responsive in the needs of industries.

In line with its 25th Anniversary of TESDA Cordillera, PEZA Baguio Officer – in – charge and Deputy Zone Administrator Alan Datajan said the agency recognizes the continuing dedication and commitment of TESDA to pursue the future of the workforce of the country aside from improving the lives of out of school youths and the unemployed and underemployed.

“We have been working with TESDA Cordillera for a while now which provides for opportunities for technical-vocational education graduates within the economic zone,” Datajan said.

As part of its program during its 25th year anniversary, TESDA Cordillera recently conducted its World Cafe of Opportunities (WCO) in the region.

The WCO is a job fair which seeks to connect government and private agencies to technical and vocational education training (TVET) graduates which as highlight of the National Tech-Voc Day celebrated every 25th day of August pursuant to Republic Act 10970.

Manuel Wong, TESDA-Cordillera regional director explained the partnership is consistent in their advocacy “TESDA Abot Lahat,” as it continues to implement job linkaging and networking services or JoLiNS through WCO.

“PEZA Baguio seeks to further enhance its level of partnership with TESDA through the establishment of a special economic zone institute,” Datajan added.
