1st Bakun district Teachers’ Day celebration held
AFTER almost five months since the school was set ablaze on May 1, Indaoac Elementary School (IES) continues to provide basic education, primary and elementary, particularly to the residents of barangay Taba-an Sur in Tuba, Benguet.
Teachers, parents and learners of IES are very much appreciative for the support extended to them not only by the local government units but also to the different non-government organizations, private individuals and agencies for their invaluable support to the school.
Henry Tinaza, school head of IES, also expressed his deep gratitude to the Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) and barangay officials of Taba-an for their sacrifice in setting temporary classrooms.
“In behalf of the teachers of this school, I would like to express our deep gratitude to our supportive PTA officers and members, active barangay officials of Taba-an Sur, and to all our Partners for helping us rebuild our school from nothing. I would like to thank also our municipal and provincial officials not only for their financial support but also for coming here to help in our “Brigada Eskwela” activities,” said Mr. Tinaza.
“We cannot forget also the private individuals and non-government organizations not only here in our province but also abroad for their invaluable support, financially and physically. There are many of these private institutions who came and offered help to us. They gave our children school supplies. They also gave us teaching materials and constructed temporary classrooms and comfort rooms,” Tinaza added.
At present, IES has four temporary classrooms and five teachers including the school head.
According to Mr. Tinaza, the school continues to receive support from outside the Dep-Ed family in which he is very much thankful.
“The situation now is really a great challenge for us teachers and our learners. For our learners, they need to bear with the tight condition of their classrooms while the teachers must double their efforts to still ensure a quality standard of education,” said Tinaza.
