NCCA streams cul­tural on­line program, Pa­dayon this July

THE Na­tional Com­mis­sion for Cul­ture and the Arts (NCCA) led by its chair­man Arse­nio “Nick” Lizaso, ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor Al Ryan S. Ale­jan­dre, deputy ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor Marichu G. Tel­lano, and su­per­vis­ing of­fi­cer for ad­min­is­tra­tion Ber­nan Joseph R.

Cor­puz, in part­ner­ship with the Cul­tural Cen­ter of the Philip­pine–Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent (CCP), is pro­duc­ing a cul­tural dig­i­tal program pri­mar­ily de­signed for the new nor­mal era, ti­tled Pa­dayon: the NCCA Hour. Pa­dayon: the NCCA Hour mainly aims to use the time of the quar­an­tine to ig­nite and in­still in all Filipinos the ap­pre­ci­a­tion for and love of arts and cul­ture and in­cul­cate a sense of un­der­stand­ing and pride in our her­itage and what makes us dis­tinctly Fil­ipino.

Pa­dayon: The NCCA Hour is com­posed of three main seg­ments namely, Sin­ing Aral, Sin­ing Saya, and Samo’t Sin­ing; and four spe­cial seg­ments namely, Bukang Isip, Laro Tayo, Sin­ingspi­rasyon, and Sin­ing Galaw. Sin­ing Aral is the ed­u­ca­tional and in­for­ma­tive part of the show, where ed­u­ca­tional top­ics will be dis­cussed, such as Epikong Bayan, Philip­pine his­tory, Noli Me Tan­gere, El Fili­bus­ter­ismo, Philip­pine lan­guages, among oth­ers.

While Sin­ing Saya is the in­for­ma­tive but en­ter­tain­ing part of the show. It fea­tures var­i­ous per­son­al­i­ties from a dif­fer­ent field, recorded dance per­for­mances, and cul­tural pre­sen­ta­tions with an­no­ta­tions from hosts and ex­perts.

In Samo’t Sin­ing, this is the drone’s view of what is hap­pen­ing at NCCA—cur­rent projects and ac­tiv­i­ties re­lated to the 19 na­tional com­mit­tees; and the CCP–Of­fice of the Pres­i­dent’s Out­reach

Sin­ing Sin­ing Aral is the ed­u­ca­tional and in­for­ma­tive part of the show, where ed­u­ca­tional top­ics will be dis­cussed, such as Epikong Bayan, Philip­pine his­tory, Noli Me Tan­gere, El Fili­bus­ter­ismo, Philip­pine lan­guages, among oth­ers.

Pro­grams in the re­gions. Snappy but sub­stan­tial in­ter­views with NCCA of­fi­cials and other per­son­al­i­ties in the arts and cul­ture sec­tor.

While the four spe­cial seg­ments, BukangIsip, which is a one­minute cap­sule in­ter­view of var­i­ous per­son­al­i­ties from the cul­tural sec­tor; LaroTayo, which in­volves “Ques­tion of the Day” where hosts shall give out a ques­tion re­lated to the day’s topic to be an­swered by on­line view­ers / au­di­ence; Sin­ing In­spi­rasyon which fea­tures in­spir­ing sto­ries of artists dur­ing the lock­down; and Sin­ing Galaw, the week­ender seg­ment which fea­tures a com­pi­la­tion of per­for­mances, art­works, among oth­ers.

Pa­dayon: the NCCA Hour is hosted by Pub­lic Affairs and In­for­ma­tion Sec­tion head Rene S. Nape­nas, In­ter­na­tional Affairs Sec­tion head An­nie Luis, and Plan / Pol­icy For­mu­la­tion and Pro­gram­ming Di­vi­sion of­fi­cer-in-charge and Arts Sec­tion head Ferdie Isleta.

Pa­dayon: the NCCA Hour airs ev­ery Mon­days, Wed­nes­days, and Fri­days; and The Pa­dayon Presents ev­ery Tues­days and Thurs­days which fea­tures var­i­ous NCCA tele­vi­sion pro­grams such as Dayaw, Buhay na Buhay, and Sag­isag Kul­tura TV (with var­i­ous seg­ments like Likhang Ya­man, Na­tional Artist Se­ries) at 3 PM to 4 PM over NCCA’s Face­book page.

Pa­dayon: the NCCA Hour will air its pi­lot episode on July 28, 2020, Tues­day, to give way to Pres­i­dent Ro­drigo Duterte’s State of The Na­tion Ad­dress (SONA), but will be back on its ac­tual sched­ule on the suc­ceed­ing weeks.
