QMS for banks, service centers approved
FOR THE safety and convenience of clients and to abate the spread of Covid-19, banks and essential service centers in the city are urged to design and implement Queuing Management Standards (QMS).
Following the approval of a resolution by the City Council, banks and service centers should identify and design a safe and orderly area with conspicuous signages for separate express/priority lanes for regular banking transactions and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) withdrawal, without impediments such as parked vehicles.
With this, close contact among queuing clients are avoided while expediting lane movement and avoiding service delay.
The council resolutions noted banks are considered essential and were open with reduced workforce even during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) and general community quarantine ( GCQ) in the city.
With the downgrading of the city to Modified General Community Quarantine, banks are a part of the national government’s “effort and plan of balancing economic activities while dealing with health issues” towards the new normal.
With the re-opening of commercial activities, banks and business establishments are mandated to practice
hygiene standards and sanitation which includes continuous disinfection of high traffic and high touch contact areas, provide hand sanitizers or wash stations in entrances.
Other health and safety protocols including wearing of masks, shields and social distancing and those prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry and the City Health Services Office of should also be implemented in said areas.
