-

THE DEPARTMENT of Social Welfare and Development - Cordillera Administrative Region (DSWD - CAR) recognized its partners who contributed in the response operations to address the effects of the community quarantine imposed due to Covid – 19.

“We have faced a lot of challenges for the past six months. But we are still here continuously providing the needs of our communities that have been greatly affected by the pandemic. The DSWD could have not done this alone, thus we are paying our tribute to our partners,” DSWD – CAR regional director

Leo Quintilla shared.

The activity dubbed as “Iyaman” is a tribute to the donors and volunteers from the various sectors of the Region.

“Through this activity, we recognize the efforts and support that have been given to the Department to deliver the programs and services when it is needed the most. We will never have enough words to express our gratitude to each of our partners,” Quintilla said.

Some 144 private groups, organizations, including government agencies in the different provinces of CAR

were cited.

DSWD Secretary Joselito Rolando Bautista who personally handed the awards recognized the persistent observance of Bayanihan in the Cordillera region.

“Buhay pa rin ang bayanihan sa Kordilyera. Ug-ugbo, ob-obfo, abbuyog, binnadang o anuman ang tawag dito, ang mahalaga ay patuloy itong namamayani sa ating rehiyon. [Kayo] ang nagpapatunay na walang sakuna o sakit ang maaring pumigil sa atin upang magbahagi ng ating sarili para sa kapakanan ng iba. To everyone who had the initiative to extend support when they are needed the most, kayo po ang bayani sa bayanihan,” Bautista quipped.

Iyaman, initiated by DSWD – CAR, is the first tribute conducted by a DSWD field office to acknowledge its partners and stakeholders in the Covid-19 response operations. DSWD – CAR
