Tabuk women farmers org get DOLE assistance

TABUK CITY, Kalinga - - Department of Labor and Employment – Cordillera Administra­tive Region ( DOLECAR) through its Kalinga Field Office provided livelihood assistance to 62 farmers of Sitio Bayabat, Dilag, Tabuk City in the province of Kalinga.

Exequiel Ronie Guzman, DOLE – CAR regional director said the beneficiar­ies, who are all female farmers are members of the Iwwayat RIC Organizati­on registered with DOLE in 2016 under the Rural Workers Program.

“We believe the livelihood assistance provided to them will be used to purchase farm inputs supplies, retailing and provision of hand tractor for the associatio­n amounting to P496,900,” Guzman added.

Guzman continued DOLE will continue to assist the vulnerable sectors and displaced workers to help them recover economical­ly after this pandemic season.

“We also hope that their business venture will grow and become sustainabl­e even after this pandemic,” he added.

DILP or the Kabuhayan Program of DOLE is a flagship program of the agency that aims to help marginaliz­ed groups such as self-employed workers who are unable to earn sufficient income, unpaid family workers, low- waged and seasonal workers, workers displaced or to be displaced, marginaliz­ed and landless farmers, marginaliz­ed fisher- folks, women and youth, persons with disability, senior citizens, indigenous peoples, victims of armed conflicts, rebel returnees, and parents of child laborers.
