DA – CAR beefs up Ifugao agri-marketing
THE DEPARTMENT of Agriculture – Cordillera Administrative Region ( DA- CAR) through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division ( AMAD) turned over recently a total of 1000 plastic crates worth P400,000 to Tinoc and Asipulo Municipal Agriculture Offices (MAOs) beefing up Ifugao's marketing assistance.
Some 400 plastic crates were provided to Asipulo Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) benefitting four Farmers Associations (FAs) including Ballucok, Namal, Asipulo, and Pula.
According to Dabert Tayaban, Asipulo Municipal Agriculturist (MA), the crates will be evenly distributed to registered farm groups in support to the hauling and transport of fresh produce from their municipality.
Tayaban emphasized through these interventions of the agriculture department, local farmers will be able to ensure their harvest will be delivered efficiently whilst maintaining product quality.
Furthermore, 600 plastic crates were delivered to Tinoc.
The marketing inputs will also be distributed to Tinoc’s registered farm cooperatives to aid in shipping their produce and in the KADIWA marketing.
Pedring Manghi, Tinoc MA, emphasized that interventions of DA on market linkages and input distributions assure farmers that they are supported and valued amidst the socio- economic impacts of Covid-19.
