DA – CAR beefs up Ifugao agri-marketing

THE DEPARTMENT of Agricultur­e – Cordillera Administra­tive Region ( DA- CAR) through its Agribusine­ss and Marketing Assistance Division ( AMAD) turned over recently a total of 1000 plastic crates worth P400,000 to Tinoc and Asipulo Municipal Agricultur­e Offices (MAOs) beefing up Ifugao's marketing assistance.

Some 400 plastic crates were provided to Asipulo Municipal Agricultur­e Office (MAO) benefittin­g four Farmers Associatio­ns (FAs) including Ballucok, Namal, Asipulo, and Pula.

According to Dabert Tayaban, Asipulo Municipal Agricultur­ist (MA), the crates will be evenly distribute­d to registered farm groups in support to the hauling and transport of fresh produce from their municipali­ty.

Tayaban emphasized through these interventi­ons of the agricultur­e department, local farmers will be able to ensure their harvest will be delivered efficientl­y whilst maintainin­g product quality.

Furthermor­e, 600 plastic crates were delivered to Tinoc.

The marketing inputs will also be distribute­d to Tinoc’s registered farm cooperativ­es to aid in shipping their produce and in the KADIWA marketing.

Pedring Manghi, Tinoc MA, emphasized that interventi­ons of DA on market linkages and input distributi­ons assure farmers that they are supported and valued amidst the socio- economic impacts of Covid-19.
