Kalinga Provl. Hospital pedia dept placed on lockdown

TABUK CITY, Kalinga - - The Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) pediatric department is placed on 10-day temporary lockdown from December 3-12.

In A KPH advisory, the lockdown was ordered after a patient was swabbed positive of Covid – 19.

The Provincial Health Office reported some 41 health personnel who had direct exposure to said patient were swabbed and the results are expected this week.

As part of the health protocol, the KPH management has declared 5-day temporaril­y suspension of out-patient consultati­on except for emergency cases, while OB-Gyne consultati­on has been limited from December 3-7, 2020 for area disinfecti­on.

There has been a surge of Covid – 19 cases in the past week particular­ly in Tinglayan where three barangays have been placed on lockdown from November 23 to December 8, 2020.

To date, the province has recorded 398 Covid – 19 confirmed cases with 295 recoveries, 102 active and one death.

Meanwhile, Governor Ferdinand issued strong reminder to residents to strictly observe health protocols with the rising confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province.
