Public warned on use of firecrackers anew
THE POLICE Regional Office – Cordillera (PRO – COR) is set to double their efforts in preventing the entry of banned firecrackers in the Cordillera Administrative Region ( CAR) as part of its yearly “Iwas Paputok” campaign.
In a memorandum, PRO – COR regional director Brigadier General R’win Pagkalinawan reiterated only those firecrackers with permits will be allowed.
“We should be knowledgeable that this firecrackers should be regulated to which no one can just bring in firecrackers without the necessary documents. PRO – COR will strictly implement the memorandum that have been cascaded to us,” Pagkalinawan said.
Pagkalinawan said aside from the strict inspection for travel documents in all border check points related to Covid -19, police will also conduct search for illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
PRO - COR and the Department of Health – Cordillera Administrative Region (DOH – CAR) is eyeing lesser firecracker related injuries due to the strict
minimum health protocols related to the Coronavirus disease (Covid – 19).
DOH - CAR, revealed from December 2019 to January 5,2020, a total of 22 fireworks related injuries with no victims of illegal discharge of firearms were recorded.
