Taneg ES conducts INSET

IN LINE with the continuing effort of the Department of Education to continuous provide, continuing and quality instructio­n to learners despite this pandemic through its Learning Continuity Plan, a training– workshop was conducted to the teachers of the Taneg Elementary and Primary Schools of Mankayan District on Dec. 14 to 17.

The training aims to enhance/upgrade teachers’ ICT related skills which is very much needed during this pandemic as they try to reach out to the learners through all possible means, prepare and submit reports, prepare supplement­ary learning materials, and many others.

The INSET was based on the teachers’ needs as indicated in the individual developmen­t plans.

The teacher-participan­ts of the training were updated on the current trends in education in relation to learning delivery modalities specifical­ly on radio/television/internet based instructio­ns which can be partnered with module for maximum learning. They also gained knowledge and skills in maximizing the use of apps installed in laptops and mobile phones.

The training served also as an avenue for those who attended trainings conducted in the division and region to share learnings or roll out to the school level. Angela Napoleon, training coordinato­r, discussed about story writing, Clynne Pawid demonstrat­ed how to create interactiv­e quiz. Imee Robie Costian presented advance features of spread sheet and guided the participan­ts in making their own class records as simple output so as not to be relying on the downloadab­le materials. Merlinglo Costian shared the use of Fotor app in editing pictures. Mary Jane Bayeng, shared learning gained from the eight-day regional training on MELC and Critical Contents specially on the RBI/TVI/IBI and use of Canva and inshot apps in creating learning materials. Genevieve Copite, PTA Officer, was also invited to share her expertise on drawing and coloring digitally. Juliet Daganos, school head, discussed the contextual­ized SBM assessment tool and presented the MOVs needed to be arranged and fixed.

The four-day training concluded with a closing program where the school head challenged the participan­ts to keep themselves abreast with recent trends and changes in education and to apply the learnings gained from the training.
