Cops arrest 9, seize shabu worth P100T

AT least nine drug suspects were arrested in Cagayan de Oro in separate operations on Thursday, July 20, that also resulted in the confiscati­on of

over P100,000 worth of methamphet­amine hydrochlor­ide or shabu.

Operatives of police station 6 in brgy. Puerto nabbed 25-yearold Rose Ann Adalim in a drug bust in nearby Bugo village.

Adalim was said to be the top 8 target in the drugs watch list by the police and Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency-Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10).

Police seized three sachets of ‘shabu’ weighing 4 grams and valued around P23,000 from the suspect’s possession.

In Barangay 35, personnel of police station 2 arrested a certain Edmund Ebarat, 32, after the suspect yielded some P50,000 worth of ‘shabu’ in a sting operation.

Authoritie­s apprehende­d two more drug personalit­ies identified as Marvin Galicano,41; and Pinky Galicano, 19, both residents of Tibasak Macasandig, this city.

Some 5.3 grams of ‘shabu’ worth around P44,000 were seized from them.

Meanwhile, operatives from police station 10 have arrested one Almer Udtohan, 30; Liezyl Canete, 27; and Ruel De Asis, 27; in a drug bust in Lapasan village, this city.

Suspects yielded three sachets of shabu and other drug parapherna­lia.

Police said all of the suspects will face charges for violations of the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

Chief Inspector Mardy Hortillosa II, spokespers­on of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo), said the city police is still adhering the directive of the police leadership to sustain anti-illegal drug operations alongside the conduct of stringent security measures against terrorism.

“Cocpo encourages the public to continuall­y support the police, local government and concern agencies in the fight against illegal drugs, ”Hortillosa said.
