Oro’s Norte leads Cobra race cast in Lanao Norte

COBRA 70.3 Asia-Pacific Asian Elite champion Banjo Norte and his runner-up Paul Jumamil will lead the cast of racers in the 3rd Lanorteman Triathlon series second leg on Sept. 10 at MCC Complex in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

With Norte and Jumamil on the forefront of Cebubased Omega PRO Triathlon team, the Cobra race is guaranteed to be a sure-fire hit.

The 24-year-old Norte, a native of Cagayan de Oro, is fresh from a titular comeback in the 70.3 Asian Elite recently in Mactan, Cebu.

With his recent triumph, Norte erased a four-year drought since winning his first in 2012.

His teammate Jumamil, who trailed six minutes behind Norte in the Cobra 70.3 Challenge, will also be in the watch list among the titular favorites.

“The crowd in Lanao del Norte will be very excited especially with their presence. The competitio­n will be tougher this time around,” said event organizer Dennis Yap of the Transition production­s. First leg champion Emmanuel Comendador of Bohol has yet to make his confirmati­on.

But, leg runner-ups Jonard Saem of Team Unilab General Santos City and Satar Salem of host Lanao del Norte are up to challenge the vaunted pair of Norte and Jumamil who will also fortify Omega Pro Triathlon’s titular defense in the team event.

First leg runner-up TRI SND Barracuda team will also be a title threat as well as team Iligan Archangels and RAMBO CCC Team of Ozamis City.
