THE Higala girls showed too much power against the unprepared Xavier University Women’s Varsity football team sweeping them in Game-2 of their best-of-three title series, 6-0, to pocket the Women’s division title of the 2nd Crusaders Cup Invitational football tournament at the XU field in Divisoria.

Higala FC of coach Paul Cabio last week also scored a lopsided, 7-0, over the XU women to gain the 1-0 upper hand in the series.

Led by the comebacking Patricia Ching and the best high school footballers of CdO, the Higala girls showed no mercy from start to finish to bag the crown.

Ching led the Higala Girls with two goals while Chantal Van Ommeren also scored two goals. Blencky Galario and Andrea Cabactulan added one goal each.

Other members of the Higala Girls FC team are Chloe Uy, DivineGenerale, Andrea Navaja, Gail Loking, Coline Acelo, Laika Chaves, Andrea Cabactulan, Bianca Razon, Chavonne Uy, Margella Ramirez and Melgrace Camarillo (injured).

In the men’s division, Magis FC nipped Xavier University, 2-0 to secure a place in the winner-take-all championship while Monte Carlo edged Glorious Hope United FC, 2-1. The win was not enough for Monte Carlo to advance to the championship as GHUFC made it to the final with higher goal difference. GHUFC and Monte Carlo FC finished with identical one win, one loss and one draw record.

Magis FC topped the elimination round with two wins and one draw while XU drops to the cellar with one draw and two losses.

The championship between Magis FC and GHUFC will be announced later depending on the availability of the playing venue.
