January favorites

-

January whizzed by so fast! Between work and Sinulog and a beach trip, I felt like I was always on the go. Here are some of the things I always reached for last month. Lucas Papaw Ointment I thought I had lost this, but my tube that a friend had given me was just hiding in a makeup bag that had gotten buried under other stuff. When I was a university student in Sydney, I noticed that Aussie women always had Lucas Papaw with them. I use it mostly as lip balm, but I’ve also used it on ragged cuticles. The tube says it can also be used “for boils, burns, chafing, cuts, cracked skin, gravel rash, splinters, open wounds, insect bites and nappy rash.”

Tony Moly Lovely Eyebrow Pencil

This pigmented and long-wearing brow pencil is great for lightly feathering in the brows or creating a clean outline. It’s not as soft as other pencils, so you don’t have to worry about smudging and cleaning up your brow work with concealer. It lasts really well too, even after the gym. Because I find sharpening to be a chore that wastes product, I’m glad this is retractable and also has its own spoolie.

Johnson’s Baby Cologne

I guess all of us have loved this classic light cologne since we were children, or at least in high school when we started to care about how we smelled. The 50ml bottles are perfect for your handbag and are only P30+ each. If you’re also the type to carry everything but the kitchen sink in your bag on a daily basis, having a small and lightweight bottle of fragrance is really handy. It’s been so hot lately that I feel I need to freshen up every so often, so this makes it easy.

Skinfood Tomato Jelly Lip Tint

On weekends when I get tired of carrying everything but the kitchen sink, I head out with a tiny purse that will fit only my mobile phone, some cash and cards, keys and one lip product. This jelly lip tint has been the one I used the most this month. Some may find it quite sticky, but I like that it moisturizes well while leaving a good amount of color on the lips.
