Jessie J as the first international winning China’s version of X-Factor TV Talent Show; Singer 2018
The 30-year-old English singer and songwriter Jessica Ellen Cornish, famously known as Jessie J triumphantly won the China’s version of X-Factor TV Talent Show 2018 except that the contestants are all established singers from Asia.
Jessie went up against professional singers in Asia, singing some of her songs in the competition and sang covers of vocalists who are very well-known all across the globe.
She sang some of her own hits, such as Flashlight and Domino, as well as cover tracks including Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You.
The artist had garnered a lot of achievements and fame at a young age and winning the Singer 2018 was another contribution to her journey towards success.
The English singer’s unconventional music style pushed the icon into doing the unexpected which led her to becoming the first international winning one of the biggest music competition in China.
"I said yes because I LOVE to do the unexpected and I LOVE to represent the UK and singing everywhere I go. I LOVE to sing. But also it was an opportunity to bridge a gap between two cultures,” Jessie said.
Writing on her Instagram, Jessie J also stated that China changed her life.
“Life is about experience. Doing things that break away from the norm and the expected in this industry. Bridging a gap between two very different cultures. Opening the door for other international artists to be on this show,” she said.
