IGDA Philippines @ ESGS 2018
The International Game Developers Association - Philippines Manila (IGDA PH MNL) Chapter recently announced its participation at one of the biggest Southeast Asian game conventions, ESports and Gaming Summit (ESGS) happening on October 26-28, 2018 at SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City.
“IGDA supports and empowers game developers around the world in achieving fulfilling and sustainable careers,” which is a statement in line with the association’s new mission statement.
Now, in order to serve the local game development community better, IGDA PH MNL Chapter will conduct one on one sessions with aspiring game developers and local industry experts.
Furthermore, IGDA PH MNL will provide free booth for promising game developers to showcase their games, specifically Matcha Interactive with their game, Golden Hour.
Golden Hour is a free-to-play mobile otome game set in the Philippines. The story focuses on a young woman, who moves into the fictional city of Haraya, and her relationships with the people she meets there. It utilizes typical visual novel gameplay as well as simulated online interactions to provide an immersive narrative experience.
The game was inspired by the growing body of mobile storydriven games, which has become popular among mobile device users. The engaging narrative that revolves around unique cultural influences and distinct settings was the team’s desirable contribution to the game
The game is currently in development, following a successful Kickstarter campaign. A playable demo is now available on Google Playstore and the App Store. PR
