Committee approves budget for mayor’s office
The committee of the whole convened to deliberate on the proposed 2019 budget has approved in its level the budget of the City Chief Executive office and its auxiliary programs and services, which include the budget for Cagayan de Oro’s Emergency Assistance and Command Center worth P2.1 million, and the city’s AntiDrug Abuse Program worth P609,000.
It also approved the budgets of agencies in charge for the city’s public order and safety.
Also given green light is the city’s aid to the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) worth P35.6 million for 2019.
“This still has to be approved at the City Council. These amounts are approved in the committee level,” Councilor Edna Dahino said, the presiding officer of the budget deliberations.
The committee also approved the city’s aid to Cagayan de Oro Fire District worth P8.7 million, City Jail-Male Dormitory worth P16.7 million, and City Jail-Female and Juvenile Dormitory worth P1.5 million. It also approved the city’s support to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency worth P3 million.
The Roads and Traffic Administration’s (RTA) proposed P100 million budget meanwhile is deferred as the councilors demand for a traffic management plan before they get an approval.
