Com­mit­tee ap­proves bud­get for mayor’s of­fice

The com­mit­tee of the whole con­vened to de­lib­er­ate on the pro­posed 2019 bud­get has ap­proved in its level the bud­get of the City Chief Ex­ec­u­tive of­fice and its aux­il­iary pro­grams and ser­vices, which in­clude the bud­get for Ca­gayan de Oro’s Emer­gency As­sis­tance and Com­mand Cen­ter worth P2.1 mil­lion, and the city’s An­tiDrug Abuse Pro­gram worth P609,000.

It also ap­proved the bud­gets of agen­cies in charge for the city’s pub­lic or­der and safety.

Also given green light is the city’s aid to the Ca­gayan de Oro City Po­lice Of­fice (Cocpo) worth P35.6 mil­lion for 2019.

“This still has to be ap­proved at the City Coun­cil. These amounts are ap­proved in the com­mit­tee level,” Coun­cilor Edna Dahino said, the pre­sid­ing of­fi­cer of the bud­get de­lib­er­a­tions.

The com­mit­tee also ap­proved the city’s aid to Ca­gayan de Oro Fire District worth P8.7 mil­lion, City Jail-Male Dor­mi­tory worth P16.7 mil­lion, and City Jail-Fe­male and Ju­ve­nile Dor­mi­tory worth P1.5 mil­lion. It also ap­proved the city’s sup­port to the Philip­pine Drug En­force­ment Agency worth P3 mil­lion.

The Roads and Traf­fic Ad­min­is­tra­tion’s (RTA) pro­posed P100 mil­lion bud­get mean­while is de­ferred as the coun­cilors de­mand for a traf­fic man­age­ment plan be­fore they get an ap­proval.
