XEHAI opens fiesta week with Christmas Tree lighting
NEWLY elected Xavier Estates Homeowners Association Inc.(XEHAI) president Engr. Avalyn Cahulugan led the lighting ceremony recently of the village’s giant Christmas Tree in front of the new XEHAI administration building inside the posh Xavier Estates Subdivision, Upper Balulang this city.
Assisting her in the simple ceremony were other XEHAI officials Adot Solon, Tony Evangelista, Jun Camacho and Architect Richard Tan. Homeowners were also present during the ceremony. They also brought food to be enjoyed by everyone.
The ceremony also kicked off the weeklong Xavier Estates Fiesta celebration in honour of the Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron of the community. The fiesta celebration will culminate on the 12th of December with an early morning procession just inside the village.
“Today is a very special day for Xavier Estates. It is the day when we officially begin the season of Christmas by lighting-up our big Christmas Tree. This is the 4th Christmas Tree light-up for our village and has already become a tradition. We gather here with our family, friends and community to witness the light-up and enjoy the warmth and wonder that comes with it,’’ Engr. Cahulugan said before the she turned up the switch.
She added that children look forward to the exchange gifts, Sta. Claus, Christmas carols, and the magic that comes with it. Adults also cherish the memories of many wonderful Christmases of the past and at the same time looking forward to the New Year.
“Today we also look back into the history of Christmas, Jesus Christ was born on Christmas day, from that day on we have been celebrating his birth. As we can see, the Nativity set is also lighted. It reminds us of the essence of Christmas-the love of family and community,’’ she added.
XEHAI will also have Kasadya Fiesta Fair on Saturday and Sunday (Dec. 8-9). On Saturday, there will be a concert of Teen Bands at the Fiesta Fair venue just beside the giant Christmas Tree. On Sunday a novena will be held at 10 a.m. at the Chapel which will then be followed by a mass. The blessing of the workers quarters (near the chapel gate will then follow. Free lechon will then be served after the mass.
Free breakfast will also be served during the fiesta day on the 12th of December right after the procession and the mass in the morning.
