MisOr-PPO activates ‘Ligtas Paskuhan 2018’

-

With Christmas just around the corner, the Misamis Oriental provincial police office (MisOrPPO) has issued safety tips to warn residents against criminal activities that commonly spike during the yuletide season.

The police’s information campaign called “Ligtas Paskuhan 2018” and which was posted in social media sites enumerates safety measures for residents to avoid being victimized by criminals and lawless elements in malls, markets, ready-to-wear stores and other areas where people stormed to buy presents and other items for Christmas.

Police said wallets should be placed in a tight pocket or front pocket; separate the cash and other expensive belongings so pickpockets and snatchers could not get everything at once.

“Kini aron malikayan nga makuha tanan kung kita mahimong biktima sa kuotan o snatchers,” police said.

Authorities also remind the public to avoid showing big amount of cash which could entice bad elements to commit crime.

Everyone is also urged to as much as possible avoid wearing expensive jewelries and using of cellphones.

“Paghuman og bayad, ihapa sa atubangan sa kahera ang sukli aron sayon mureklamo pananglitan nasayop sa paghatag sa sukli,” the reminder said.

Adults were also advised to as much as possible avoid bringing along children or put an identification on them so they can be easily found in case they are lost.

Police also said everyone should know the first aid station or the PNP’s assistance desks in case of emergencies.

Other police offices and police stations across the region have also issued reminders on their respective social media pages. Alwen Saliring
