Dads authorize MOU with DOH for HFEP 2018
THE completion of the City Health Office and the construction of two health centers will soon be implemented.
Through separate ordinances, the 18th City Council during its regular session Monday, February 4, presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin V. Uy authorized City Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Department of Health (DOH-10).
This covers the implementation of the infrastructure projects through the Health Facility Enhancement Program 2018 (HFEP 2018) intended for the completion of the City Health Office and construction of new health centers at the Balubal and Indahag Resettlement Sites.
The Power learned that the DOH allocated P7 million intended for the construction/rehabilitation of the City Health Office while P1.5 million each is allotted for the two health centers.
It may be recalled that the DOH also offered financial support and implement infrastructure projects to the city government amounting to P198 million for the completion of the J.R. Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) level 1, which includes the construction of additional service wards.
The HFEP 2018 is in line with the Universal Health Care for all Filipinos program to ensure the achievement of the health system goals of better health outcomes, sustained health financing and responsive health system ensuring that all Filipinos, especially the disadvantaged group have equitable access to affordable health care through HFEP 2018.
The MOUs were reviewed and favorably endorsed by the committees on health and sanitation and health insurance and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Maria Lourdes S. Gaane and Ian Mark Q. Nacaya, respectively. (SP/JBD)
