Call for submissions: Carayan Journal

The Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan English Department’s Carayan Journal is now coming out biannually in line with its editorial and advisory board expansion. For its Special “Green” Issue in June, the journal will take the large theme of ecocriticism, addressing the classic core issue of literature-nature connection.

For its literary study section, they accept papers on Philippine literature touching on a wide spectrum of environmental issues – nature writing, urban ecology, water bodies poetics, space-time inscriptions, Anthropocene epoch, biocentrism, apocalyptic or utopian themes, among others.

For its creative writing section, they accept works that explore the secret worlds of ancient trees, trails, old houses, mountains big and small, weathers, flora and fauna, and bodies of water.

They also accept photos and digital graphic designs which are poetic interpretations of green. All photos/arts must be original and must be submitted online. The deadline for submission is on April 3, 2019 (7PM). PR
