THE Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo) has arrested a total of 252 drug suspects and seized more than P1.1 million worth of dangerous drugs in various anti-illegal drug operations in the city since January, this year.

As of yesterday, May 21, police anti-drug operatives

nabbed 252 suspected drug personalities who were either drug peddlers or users in 204 operations.

Data from Cocpo showed that around P1 million of suspected shabu (Methamphetamine hydrochloride) and P126,005 of marijuana were confiscated in said operations.

Some six drug suspects were killed in some operations for fighting back against the operatives.

Police said drug charges against arrested suspects have been filed in court.

Cocpo spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mardy Hortillosa II said the city police office will continue to run after drug personalities who remain active in the business.

He said relentless efforts have been carried out in the aim to clear the villages from the menace of illicit drugs.

“Ang Cocpo magpadayon sa paglakag sa mga gapayuhot sa ginadiling droga hangtod nga magamay ug mapuo ang mga gapayuhot sa ginadili nga droga para ma-clear ang atong dakbayan,” Hortillosa said.

(Cocpo will continue to chase those who use illegal drugs, until the users will reduce in number and can be prevented to commit again, in order for our city to be cleared)

“Gihangyo namo ang katawhan nga motabang sa kanunay sa kapolisan sa fight against illegal drugs kay dili lang kini problema sa kapolisan kundili problema kini natong tanan,” he added.

(We are asking to the people to always help the police in our fight against illegal drugs because this is not only the problem of the police but everyone’s problem).
