4 Kagayanons test negative for coronavirus disease
FOUR persons, two of whom were dead, have tested negative for SarsCoV-2, which causes coronavirus disease (Covid-19), Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) medical specialist Dr. Bernard Rocha reported on Tuesday, June 9.
Tested negative were a 44-yearold male and a 66-year-old male, both are residents of Cagayan de Oro City and are non-ERID admissions, Rocha said.
Dead were an 85-year-old female from Barangay Nazareth, this city, and a 21-year-old female from outside Cagayan de Oro.
According to Rocha, the 85-yearold woman was declared dead on arrival with the cause of death being an acute respiratory failure secondary to tuberculosis.
The 21-year-old woman, on the other hand, died due to status epilepticus and acute respiratory failure secondary to community-acquired pneumonia (high risk).
The 25-year-old Covid-positive woman from Barangay Lumbia is scheduled to be discharged from the hospital and to be transferred to the city isolation unit.
Despite being in a stable condition, her transfer to the city isolation unit is due to her repeat test reading positive for Covid-19.
Likewise, the 49-year-old female from Barangay Kauswagan is on a stable condition and her health has been improving, however, her status is still guarded, Rocha said.
Meanwhile, the City Health Office (CHO) has identified a total of 18 close contacts of the dead 34-year-old Covid-positive woman from Dabatian, Barangay Carmen, this city.
Of the 18 close contacts, 12 are already in the city isolation unit, CHO Epidemiologist Dr. Joselito Retuya said.
He added that they will be swabbed and tested if they showed unusual signs or symptoms of the virus.
