LSI from Manila is Cotabato City’s 11th Covid-19 patient

Across the region, the DOH reported a total of 32 confirmed patients with Cotabato City having the highest at 11, followed by South Cotabato with seven, North Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat with five each, General Santos City with three and Sarangani with one.

COTABATO CITY – A 40-year-old woman who traveled from Manila to this city on June 6 is the city’s latest coronaviru­s disease 2019 (Covid-19) positive patient, the Department of Health - Region 12 said in a report Monday.

Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for DOH-12, said the woman, who is still awaiting PH number, remained in stable condition.

She was the 32nd Covid-19 positive patient in the region.

Two more patients who tested positive of the disease were reported as of Monday, one each from South Cotabato province and General Santos City.

The woman in Cotabato City was a locally stranded individual (LSI) from Manila.

She was assisted by the Cotabato City health office upon arrival like other returning city residents whose return was facilitate­d by the local government.

“She is now in isolation for 14 days just like any other repatriate­s. She is asymptomat­ic,” Gangoso said of the city’s 11th patient.

Out of the total Covid- 19 positive cases in this city, seven have so far fully recovered.

Across the region, the DOH reported a total of 32 confirmed patients with Cotabato City having the highest at 11, followed by South Cotabato with seven, North Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat with five each, General Santos City with three and Sarangani with one.

DOH-12 also reported 18 recoveries, 13 still in isolation, and one death.

“Those in isolation are all in stable condition,” Gangoso said.

He added that DOH-12 is reminding everyone to always observe safe physical distancing, wear face masks, regularly wash hands, eat nutritious foods, and avoid posting fake news. (PNA)
