No local transmission of virus in MisOr- official
MISAMIS Oriental Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano said there is no local transmission yet of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) even if the province registered three positive cases.
Emano said the three persons tested positive of the virus were a returning overseas Filipino worker (OFW) and locally stranded individuals.
“We have done wonderful things in Misamis Oriental. Until today we remain zero why because all the three cases were imported and not locally transmitted,” Emano said.
The first case was a 29-yearold male who is an OFW from Saudi Arabia and returned to his hometown in Libertad on June 6. The two others were a 30-yearold father and his one-year-old baby who were LSIs from Manila and returned to Gingoog City on June 11.
The Provincial Task Force for Covid-19 discarded the possibility of community exposure as the three patients have been sheltered in isolation facilities established in their respective LGUs upon arrival in their hometown.
Emano said the task force has been exerting its best efforts to contain the virus and prevent local transmission in the province.
He is also confident that the task force can overcome all the challenges in ensuring the safety of the Misamisnons.
“Tanan intensyon ni Task Force Chief Dr. Jerrie Calingasan dli politika kundili maluwas ang atong kinabuhi batok sa Covid,” Emano said.
