ORO LOGS 27TH CORONAVIRUS CASE
A 44-YEAR-OLD woman from Zone 2, barangay Agusan, this city is the 27th coronavirus case in the city.
The woman works as a cashier of a private distributor company that sells electronic, lighting supplies, among others.
City Epidemiologist Dr. Joey Retuya said her line of work might have exposed her to the virus. As a cashier, Retuya said the patient receives remittances from several personnel of the company who have visited other places in Mindanao.
On June 13, the patient’s employer organized a rapid diagnostic testing for the employees. Results from the rapid test found the patient reactive or positive.
The company then informed the City Health Office (CHO) of the result and swabbed the patient. She tested positive of the RT-PCR test.
Retuya said the patient is at the City Isolation Unit and is currently showing no symptoms. Meanwhile, 4 close contacts or family members of the patient are also placed in isolation.
Also, 4 co-workers of the patient were cleared by CHO after they tested negative of the coronavirus.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno placed the block where the patient resides, under lockdown for 14 days while contact tracing and active health surveillance in the area is on-going.
As of June 24, the city has a total of 27 COVID-19 cases but only 12 are active, 6 died, and 9 recovered. Of the 12 active cases, only 1 is admitted while the other 11 patients are all asymptomatic.
