Because our health matters most

- Text: Patricia May P. Catan Writer

Even when the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) will hopefully be lifted in a few days, everyone can agree that we won’t be going back to our usual normal for a long while. These are scary times but we still need to do our part, even after this whole ECQ. That is why staying healthy and active is our best defense against the virus. You may be tired of hearing these precautionary measures again and again, but it still pays to remind ourselves from time to time since we’ll all be facing the new normal from this time forward.

Maintain good personal hygiene.

If you want to minimize your risk of infection and protect the people around you, maintaining basic personal hygiene habits will help save lives and also enhance your overall health.

Wash your hands.

Washing your hands is filed under personal hygiene, but it needs reiterating. It can’t be stressed enough how important it is to always wash your hands with soap or sanitize them regularly, especially when you’re out in public.

Eat right.

What you put inside your body needs to be regulated as well. Eating right means having fruits and vegetables added to your daily meal or simply eating greens once a day.

Clean your surroundings.

You also need to consider the areas where you’re usually at, for example, your home and workplace. Make sure these places are always clean and dust-free.

Drink vitamins daily.

For added protection against the virus, it’s important to take your vitamins every day aside from a balanced diet.

Work out.

Working out doesn’t always equal lifting weights. It can also mean just staying active like practicing yoga or trying out Zumba—basically anything that keeps your body moving and sweating.

Wear a face mask.

Don’t go out of your house without a face mask. You wouldn’t want to acquire the virus or infect another person.

Keep yourself hydrated.

Those eight glasses (or even more) of water a day can do wonders to your body and overall health, so bottoms up.
