It might be too soon to say, but you can’t blame the movie buffs who are itching for the cinemas to finally reopen (fingers crossed) so they can wait for their favorite films to roll out one by one. While this pandemic is putting our cinematic dreams on hold, looking forward to movie releases is something we can all enjoy for now. Here are five of the most anticipate­d upcoming movies that you should add to your film calendar this year.

Mulan

Release date: July 24 (United States)

This live-action Mulan remake is what Disney fans are eager to watch. It was originally scheduled for release in March but was delayed to July 24. Now we’re left hoping that it gives justice to the 1998 animated film.

Wonder Woman 1984

Release date: August 14 (United States)

This is the sequel to 2017’s Wonder Woman that DC Comics fans have been waiting for. The superhero film is set in 1984 where Diana faces off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah.

The French Dispatch

Release date: October 16 (United States)

If you’re a fan of Wes Anderson films, then this movie is sure to be your cup of tea and you know why. Aside from the distinctiv­e visual and narrative style that the filmmaker is known for, this comedy-drama film stars an amazing ensemble cast.

Black Widow

Release date: November 6 (United States)

The 24th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) follows Natasha Romanoff after Captain America: Civil War where she confronts a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past and deals with her history as a spy.

A Quiet Place Part II

Release date: September 4 (United States)

A part two of the movie was set in stone after the box office success of the first film. After the deadly events that happened, we’re certainly curious what happens next to the Abbott family, and a part two definitely answers that.
