Siblings Ena, a general physician; Justin, a landscape architect; and Aira, a licensed pharmacist, though from different fields, decided to take a shot at opening an online food business since they are on quarantine together with no work and much time on their hands. According to them, “We’re just three bored sibs who love to cook and eat. So we thought, why not try selling our food?” The very next day, they started posting a photo of their Chicken Arroz ala Valenciana and Creamy Maja Blanca on their personal Instagram stories to do a survey whether to sell the products or not. They had so many positive reactions from their posts and that convinced them to try and sell their products online. All products of TheHungryChef_ Cebu are homemade and made fresh daily using the finest ingredients as they aim to give their customers a quality experience with their food that’s worth their money. Their bestsellers include gluten-free Paella Negra and Choco Butternut loaf. As the saying goes, “When life gives you lemon, make lemonade” and this is exactly how the Velasco siblings handled this crisis. They chose to innovate, preserve and keep and always look on the bright side.
