Developer ‘tackling’ project site collapse
CONDOMINIUM developer Taft Property Venture and Development Corp. (TPVDC) has assured that it will submit documents and plans to concerned agencies for its project, the Horizon 101 Tower, on Gen. Maxilom Ave. in Cebu City.
“The company will submit the required documents and information, majority of which had already been provided to the HLURB (Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board),” said TPVDC communications consultant Cerwin Eviota in a statement.
Restoration program
He said the order issued by HLURB 7 Director Alixes Roy Lopez on April 19 “has been tackled, started and executed in direct coordination with and prior approval of the Cebu City Government, even before the conduct of the joint team inspection.”
Eviota also said the company advised the HLURB 7 of the actions it has taken, including submitting a copy of the seven-step restoration program, which was approved last April 11 by the Office of the Building Official (OBO), last April 14.
On April 13, a joint ocular inspection was conduct- ed by the HLURB 7, OBO, Environmental Management Bureau 7, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources 7 and the Office of the City Mayor after a retaining wall at the project’s excavation site collapsed last April 10, damaging 10 houses.
Eviota said they have attended to the families affected by the incident, with the help of Barangay Cogon-ramos, and will continue to do so until the excavation subcontractor Asdec completes the 60day restoration work.
Appeal
“We appeal to the HLURB to consider the actions we have taken over the incident with our sub- contractor who has taken responsibility, and spare the company from administrative sanctions that will further hurt the investments of the stakeholders of the project,” Eviota said.
The press statement was issued following the release of a memorandum signed by members of the joint inspection team.
The team made several recommendations, including requiring the company to submit a slope protection plan and to submit the names of affected families, requiring the company to submit immediate corrective measures and recommending the suspension of the company’s permit to sell, among others.
