-

FOUR persons were wounded in separate shooting incidents in Cebu City.

A sidewalk vendor and his friend were allegedly shot by their neighbor in Barangay Carreta late Thursday night.

Jeffrey Villanueva, 20, and Heracleo Manatad, 20, sustained single gunshot wounds in their right leg.

The incident happened at 10 p.m. while the victims were riding a bicycle home.

Suddenly, they met a certain “Marjun,” who got irked when they ignored him.

A few meters away, the suspect allegedly pulled out a firearm, prompting the victims to speed off.

The suspect allegedly opened fire and fled.

Villanueva and Manatad were rushed to Cebu City Medical Center for treatment.

SPO1 Ruel Victor Ayuman of the Cebu City Police Office’s Homicide Section said the suspect reportedly harbored ill feelings against Villanueva over a shooting incident in 2010.

In a separate incident, a public utility jeepney (PUJ) driver and his brother were shot by unidentified men in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City at dawn yesterday.

Gerardo Ricablanca, 40, and younger brother Pastor, 38, suffered from multiple gunshot wounds.

Gerardo had just fetched his brother, who is a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu), when the latter got involved in an argument, which later led to a shooting incident.

The men allegedly shot the siblings and fled, while the victims were brought to the hospital.

Six empty shells of a .45 pistol were recovered in the crime scene.
