New Generations 2012 study names artist ‘Favorite Singer’ among Pinoy kids

MANILA--Pop princess Sarah Geronimo has even more to sing about at her concert this weekend as she celebrates being voted the country's “favorite singer” amongst Pinoy kids in the recent Cartoon Network New Generations Survey 2012.

New Generations 2012 is a survey conducted by Cartoon Network, the number one kids' channel, about the lifestyles and preferences of Filipino kids.

Following hot on Geronimo's heels were top local and international artists such as Charice Pempengco, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Bruno Mars.

“Isang karangalan na maging nominee ka, kasama ng mga magagaling na singer katulad ni Charice Pempengco at mga international stars pa katulad ni Justin Bieber. (It's such a huge honor to be nominated alongside great singers like Charice Pempengco, and, of course, international stars such as Justin Bieber.),” expressed the multi-talented Geronimo, upon accepting her award from Cartoon Network.

Though surprised by the win, Geronimo surmised that her appeal to kids can be attributed to her being young at heart, professing a love for anime, as well as popular Cartoon Network shows such as The Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Laboratory.

“To all the kids who voted for me as your favorite singer. Thank you for the inspiration you give me,” she said in a special message for her young fans.

The pop princess celebrated her 24th birthday with Sarah Geronimo 24/SG: The Birthday Concert at the Araneta Coliseum.
