Farms Blue dumps A Team

THE Twin Tower Farms Blue survived a hefty exchange of baskets to beat A Team by a hairline, 58-57, in the ongoing 17th Sacred Heart-Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association tournament at the SHS-AdC camps along Gen. Maxilom Ave. last Thursday.

Tied after the first quarter, Twin Tower Blue took a 27-24 lead at halftime following a 12-9 binge.

However, John Cabrera and Ryan Lauro suddenly found their range to lead A Team to a 27-20 blast in the third for a 51-47 lead entering the final period.

But A Team failed to keep the momentum and Twin Tower Farms Blue stole the victory de- spite missing eight free throws.

Francis Gabuya, Kris Villamor and Bernard Chioson combined for 37 points for Twin Tower Farms Blue, while Lauro had the game high 19 points and Carter Gothong added 14 for the A Team.

Meanwhile, the Cebu Landmasters kept the no.3 spot going into the playoffs after beating Insular Square, 64-49.

The Landmasters started its climb in the second quarter with a 19-9 blast to take over the lead after trailing 15-12 in the first period.

Raymund Mangubat and Jasper Diaz had six points each in that pivotal second quarter run of Cebu Landmasters.
