One Direction Justin Bieber & fans battle for video music award

-

Trust fans to rally behind their idol. MTV Video Music Award’s (MTV VMA) “Most Share-worthy Video” has started a Twitter war between the fans of One Direction and Justin Bieber, according to Disneyinfonet.

This year’s outing includes a Moonman trophy for the “Most Share-Worthy Video,” which fans can vote for by tweeting.

The simple guideline for the award was announced by MTV: “Whose video was so big it had the entire Internet buzzing? Tweet your vote for the music video that proved so full of impact that fans couldn’t help but make their own shareable versions.”

The nominees for the award are One Direction with What Makes You Beautiful; Justin Bieber with Boyfriend; Beyonce with Countdown; Carly Rae Jepson with Call Me Maybe; and Gotye with Somebody That I Used To Know. Fans got to work with the following results: Leading the pack as of this writing is One Direction (10.52 million tweets for What Makes You Beautiful). In

second place is Bieber’s Boyfriend with 10.44 million tweets. A far third, which is unbelievable, is Beyoncé’s

Countdown video with 31,327 tweets. Carly Rae Jepsen is in fourth place with Call Me

Maybe and Gotye is in fifth with Somebody That I Used to Know.

One Direction will perform at this year’s MTV VMA 2012 ceremony, which will be held at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on Sept. 6. Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Green Day, Pink and Frank Ocean will be at the event.
