High school student shot dead in Lapu

A HIGH school student was shot dead by two unidentified assailants in Barangay Poblacion, LapuLapu City yesterday dawn.

The police identified the victim as Nonilon Resviteru, 19, a second year high school student and a resident of Purok Apitong, Barangay Poblacion.

PO1 Jade Querubin, of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Homicide Section, said the victim was shot in the face outside a videoke bar on Punta Rizal St. around 4 a.m.

Personnel from the Emergency Rescue Unit Foundation rushed the victim to the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital but he was declared dead on arrival.

Querubin said the victim was standing outside the bar with some female bar workers when two men on board a black motorcycle stopped near them. After shooting the victim, the assailants drove away.

The police are still investigating the motive for the attack.

Last Thursday, a wood carver was wounded in a shooting incident in Sitio Soong I, Barangay Mactan.

The police identified the victim as Ronald Aying, 31, who sidelines as a multicab dispatcher.

He sustained gunshot wounds in his right shoul- der and left arm.

The police identified the suspects as Ramil Ading and Raul Malingin, both of legal age and residents of Sitio Soong Center, Barangay Mactan. They remain at large.
