Columbia rules Sun.star Cebu-isuzu Challenge
TEAM Columbia Pac n’ Go, the Columbia eco-trail organizers, improved on their fourth-place finish last year to claim the title in the Treasure Quest: the Sun.Star-Isuzu Challenge Year 9, which started at the Isuzu Cebu Showroom in Ayala and ended at the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City.
However, it was not an easy win for the team composed of Missy Toralba, Randy Salazar, Ralph Pilapil and Larry Honoridez as they went through the 10 checkpoints due to the heavy downpour last Saturday
“It was so challenging because grabe ka kusog sa ulan,” team captain Pilapil said.
Isuzu Cebu’s senior sales manager Marylou Labrador Neri said that this year race was very challenging because of the unexpected heavy downpour from the start of the race until the end.
“Everyone was drenched while doing the challenges and that even made it more exciting for the challengers,” Neri said.
She added that this year’s quest is different compared to the previous races because they prepared three different routes so that collusion between teams is minimized.
“We gave the teams a chance to double their scores by putting a wager in some challenges,” Neri said.
The team Columbia Pac n’ Go won a total of P30,000 cash prize, while team Virginia Food took home P20,000 for second place. Team International Pharmaceutical Inc. (IPI) got P10,000 for third place.
Neri added that this year’s challenge has the most number of participants after it was able to draw 28 teams.
