Man shot dead, father hurt in ‘revenge’ attack in Lapu

A MAN was killed while his father was wounded in a shooting incident in Barangay Basak, Lapu-Lapu City last Wednesday night.

Michael Angelo Oronea, 20, was pronounced dead at the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital, while Alan Oronea, 57, is still under observatio­n at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.

The police identified the suspects by their aliases: Bik-bik, Bok-bok and Poy.

According to the police, the suspects entered the house through the kitchen at 7:30 p.m.

April Oronea, 19, Michael’s sister, said the suspects were looking for his brother.

When Michael appeared, one of the suspects shot him using a .45 pistol, hitting him in his left chest.

His father, who came to his aid, was shot in the left thigh and stomach. The suspects then fled.

The police recovered four empty shells from the crime scene.

The police are looking at revenge as the motive behind the attack.

Michael was allegedly involved in a shooting incident last year that killed a friend of one of the suspects.
