The foundation and its prime program, Perlas Awards, will celebrate its silver anniversar­y at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at SM Cinema 1. All Perlas awardees from 1987-2011 will be honored, so we are all inviting them as well as all our past and present members, through this article, to come since we have difficulty in reaching them. A highlight of the event is the symbolical honoring of our The Oversea Worker, his

The Perlas awards do not look for perfect individual­s, but for those who, in some moments in their lives, demonstrat­e worthwhile values, or excel in their endeavors and have touched the lives of others.

There have been some 160 installed in the Perlas Hall of Fame: Grand Perlas for Exemplary leadership: Chief Justice Marcelo Fernan, Chief Justice Hilario Davide Sr., and Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal.
