Got swag?

There are always new ways of naming the hip crowd. The past years’ “cool” has now led to the “swag” generation.

According to the ever-expanding and reliable Urban dictionary, “swag” originated from the Scottist slang, “swagger.” The latter was simply a term used to describe the swaying motion a person makes when walking. The popular definition now holds that swag refers to a person’s cool demeanor. Such, of course, could extend to one’s fashion. Wanna get some swag? Here’s a start.

Standout With A Tee

Swag dressing is about showing spunk. You can get just that with playful prints and designs. Homegrown brands such as Simple Swagg have taken up the challenge of bringing in more flavor to your regular tee. After all, if you must aim for swag, you should go ahead and be a standout. Drop the plain shirts and own tees that come with unique graphic prints.

Equally helpful in building yourself a swag wardrobe are tank tops, sweatshirts and hoodies. Ladies will look fetching in half tops with crop tops. Although not exactly set in stone, swag dressers pair loose with tight-fit clothes. So it goes that if you plan on wearing tight pants, you are in better shape with a slack top, in keeping up with the theme. Varsity or letterman jackets, which are found everywhere nowadays, are in for outerwear.

Drop It Like It’s Hot

While denim pants can still join in the mix of your swag outfit—you can get more impact with sweats or any drop-crotch pants. A recycled trend and not necessarily a favorite trend memory to many, the drop-crotch pants is an unexpected blast from the pants.

If you can’t imagine yourself getting into the same pants as MC Hammer, there are other colorful choices lying around. As shown by ‘fly’ girls such as Nicki Minaj, you can still come up with a fierce swag outfit by combining statement tees with bright or animal print leggings.
