SOME roads in LapuLapu City will be closed during its fiesta celebration today and Tuesday.

Vehicles will not be allowed to enter all streets leading to B.M. Dimataga St.

Public utility vehicles bound for the cities of Mandaue and Cebu will be allowed to drop and pick up passengers at the terminal of the Gaisano Island Mall.

All multicabs coming from Punta Engaño and Marigondon must turn left at the M.V. Patalinghug Ave., then turn right at Petron Basak to S. Osmeña St. leading to Hoopsdome, which is their designated loading and unloading area.

Motor vehicles that weigh below 4,500 kgs. can enter the city proper through Mantaue Rd. and Lopez Jaena St. and then turn left at P. Rodriguez St. to their destination.

Vehicles weighing more than 4,500 kgs. will not be allowed to enter city roads except for those that deliver catering services.

Roadside parking is strictly prohibited. The City Traffic Management System (CTMS) will tow illegally parked vehicles.

The feast of the Virgin of the Rule is expected to draw thousands of devotees.

CTMS head Frank Brazil encouraged devotees to take the ferry boat in going to the city to avoid heavy traffic.

He said 11 ferry boats are ready to take devotees to the Osmeña wharf, which is a few meters away from the Church of Our Lady of the Rule.
