FORMER mayor Charry Mangako of Placer, Surigao del Norte yesterday vowed to get to the truth behind the attack that killed his wife an hour after she arrived in Cebu City yesterday morning.

“I will seek justice for my wife for the sake of our four minor children. I was looking for my family since Dec. 14, 2012, and when I learned that she was living in with a mayor in Masbate, all I wanted was to get her and my children back. I wanted to reunite with my family,” Mangako said.

Mangako served as mayor of Placer from 2007 to 2010. He sought reelection in 2010 but lost. Since then, he said, he and his family lived in Quiapo, Manila until last Dec. 14.

On that day, his wife Crisanta disappeared with their four children, he said.

The former mayor said he is seeking help from the authorities in Cebu and Masbate to protect the four children. He also said they were still with Mayor Herminigildo “Menel” Betonio III of Pio V. Corpus, Masbate. He described Betonio as his wife’s live-in partner.

“I will go to Cebu to claim my wife’s remains and to Masbate to get my children back. My children need me. I love them,” Mangako said.

Last April 6, Mangako called up DyDD-Bantay Radyo in Cebu and was interviewed by Oscar Pasaporte.

During the interview, Man-

gako said that because he heard DyDD radio has a good signal in Masbate, he wanted to announce that his wife, Crisanta, was living with Mayor Betonio. He also said he wanted to get his family back.

In an interview with Sun.Star Cebu yesterday, Mangako said that his wife left their home in Quiapo, along with their four children and some rentals they had been paid for their commercial buildings.

He said that because he trusted his wife, their funds were deposited in her name in at least two banks. While searching for his family, Mangako also said, he learned that his wife had closed two accounts and opened new accounts using her maiden name.

The former mayor said he could not estimate how much the accounts contained, but said they were earning P800,000 a month in rentals for two buildings.

Mangako also alleged that his wife had brought with her four of their vehicles, only one of which was registered in his name. The rest were registered as belonging to Crisanta Lauro, he added.

“These vehicles were brought using our family’s money, so (Mayor) Betonio must return them to us,” Mangako said.

Betonio is running against Allan Lipasan, who is allied with Gov. Rizalina Seachon-Lanete.

The governor’s son, Placer, Masbate Mayor Joshur Lanete, said his mother will definitely help protect Mangako’s children.
