“Manila is a hotbed for developer talent, not just in Southeast Asia, but worldwide. I’m super stoked to see who will win,” said AngelHack cofounder and CEO Greg Gopman.

Winners of the global challenge will be invited to present their startup at the Global Demo Day in Silicon Valley this September, which will be attended by investors, influencers and media. Smart DevNet has been organizing and sponsoring numerous hackathons and developer meetups since its launch in mid-2012. Business incubator IdeaSpace, which is backed by Smart and other companies, recently named the 10 startups it would support through seed funding and mentorship. (PR)
